The Heat, the hilarious, crude and exciting movie now out on DVD and Blu-ray, deserves a B because of its interesting plot line and amusing script. Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock star as two completely opposite law enforcers, one a stric rule-following CIA agent, the other a rambunctious, grungy Boston cop. They are teamed up to find a drug lord, but befriend each other when McCarthy’s character’s brother gets caught up in the mess.

This ludicrous plot starts when Sandra Bullock agrees to head up the case in hope of a promotion. She becomes uncertain when she meets the the cop she is paired with. This movie is a rollercoaster of exciting events from crazy bar scenes, to funny family squalls, to exploding cars. Sandra Bullock does an amazing job playing the boss she is used to being in other movies, while the ever witty Melissa McCarthy still surprises with her slapstick humor and acting talent.

On a serious note, director Paul Feig did well organizing the movie to the climax and resolution. He makes it it understandable with a cool twist ending which so many other comedies fail to have. The Heat is very well done and is highly recommended to anyone who is up for a fun and eventful night. Grade: B
