Preview: Five Spring Concerts

Spring means great concerts in the Baltimore – D.C. area. Here are five shows you may want to consider:

You may have heard Travie McCoy on Taio Cruz’s new single, “Higher,” or on the song “Billionaire” with Bruno Mars and B.O.B. He’s also lead singer of the band Gym Class Heroes. You can see him in person on March 20 in Towson, Maryland along with Donnis, Bad Rabbits, XV and Black Cards for $17.50.

2. Forever The Sickest Kids at The Recher Theater.

FTSK is a band from Dallas, Texas, who were named the number one Underground band by Alternative Press magazine. You can see them on April 26 at the Recher along with Breathe Carolina, We Are The In Crowd, Before Their Eyes and Tonight Alive. Tickets are on sale for $16.

readyset3. The Ready Set at Rams Head Live!

The Ready Set have been MTV’s “Push” artist of the week and have been on  their “Ten On Top” three times. They will be playing with AllStar Weekend, The Downtown Fiction and We Are The In Crowd on March 6 at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore. Tickets are on sale for $13.

4. Rusko at Rams Head Live!

For those who like to dance, Rusko, an English dubstep record producer and DJ will be performing at Rams Head Live! on April 28. He worked with M.I.A. on her third album, Maya, and produced material for Britney Spears’ upcoming album. Tickets are rather expensive at $30, but it’s sure to be a fun time.

5. Sleigh Bells at the 9:30 Club.

An experimental duo from New York, Sleigh Bells music has been featured on commercials  for shows like Skins on MTV. They also performed at Virgin Mobile Free Fest  2010. Sleigh Bells are playing at the 9:30 Club in D.C. on May 7 with Cansei De Ser Sexi, a Brazilian dance group, and Mr. Dream. Tickets are not yet on sale.
