Reviews: Acoustic Bieber and Rockin’ Reckless

Justin Bieber

Bieber-My-WorldAfter his brand new movie, Never Say Never, came out, Justin Bieber released an acoustic version of his second album, My World. The songs are the same as the ones we know, but are much more relaxing. The songs’ pace also slows down which allows us to understand what’s being said much more easily.

“Baby,” Bieber’s most popular song, is one of the best because the song becomes more intimate and seemingly more romantic. The new album is available only on iTunes and includes the “Pray” music video which is heartwarming and beautiful. Bieber’s  voice is smooth and angelic and makes his music to more likeable.

The songs are still as catchy as they were when they were faster. Even though we’ve heard the songs before, you can grow to love them once again. Along with his new movie and album, Bieber is definitely at the top of his game. Bieber clearly likes to keep busy and that provides us with great entertainment. Grade: A

The Pretty Reckless

pretty_reckless_mLight Me Up is the debut album from the rock band The Pretty Reckless (on Interscope Records). Best known for their lead singer Taylor Momsen, star of the hit TV show Gossip Girl, Reckless has built a thrilling rock album. With catchy songs like “You,” “Light Me Up,” and “Nothing Left to Lose,” Light Me Up will entertain any listener.

Some songs become a bit monotonous and dull over their length, but the majority of the tracks are easy to listen to. From the car to the stereo at home to the iPod, this is a good choice if you want to listen to rock. This album is a great start for this new band, already achieving a hit, with the new “Just Tonight.” Grade: B
