Holiday Craft Fair a Success for Band

On December 8, the Northern High School Music Boosters hosted the Annual Holiday Craft Fair.  Local vendors and Northern High School clubs set up shop in the cafeteria and other areas to sell various seasonal items and stocking stuffers.  These ranged from jewelry to baked goods to Christmas ornaments to scarves.  Northern’s National Art Honor Society was there.  “We sold various ornaments and Christmas crafts,” said Rachel Cooper, a member of the club. “It was a good way to get our club’s name out.” The Northern Key Club and Best Buddies were also there to benefit their organizations.

The festive event included Santa stopping by for the little ones and holiday music played by the members of the Northern High School band, as well as caroling by the Chamber Choir. Mr. Michael Puglisi, the band director, said the fair was a huge success. “In the past, we had made $3,500 but this year we made a gross profit of $5,400” he said. The Craft Fair was a great way to get into the holiday spirit while also supporting the band.
