Like bidding on items like gift cards and Taylor Swift fan baskets? This years Patriot Images yearbook staff will be holding a Quarter Auction tonight, Friday, November 30. “Items are bid on with one to four quarters,” explained sophomore Rebecca Denby, “and by raising your paddle which has a number on it in a Quarter Auction. If you bid on an item, you are entered into a pool and if the number drawn is the same as on your paddle you win! It’s really easy.”

Some items in the auction include Liberty Mountain Ski passes, suite tickets to a Washington Wizards game, a Washington Capitals’ fan basket, and even free yearbooks. There will also be vendors at the event including Mary Kay and Tastefully Simple. Pizza and baked goods will also be available throughout the evening.

The event is all about supporting the kind of quality yearbook we’ve come to expect at NHS. “Our program is really expensive, and we want to give the students the best yearbook possible. By doing fundraising we can lower the cost of the books,” said sophomore Kara Roberts. “It’s also a really fun way to get Christmas presents for other people,” added Roberts. Doors at the NHS cafeteria open at 5:30 p.m. with the auction starting at 6 p.m., so get out there and get those quarters ready.
