FBLA’s Trick-a-Trunk This Monday

Trick-a-Trunk , originally scheduled for October 29, was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 13 in the parking area in front of NHS. The article below refers to the original date.

On Monday, October 29, Northern High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will host their fifth annual Trick-a-Trunk fundraiser for Halloween. Trick-a-Trunk allows children to come and have a safe trick-or-treating experience. FBLA has has their work cut out for them, though, getting the event ready. FBLA Vice President Skylar Mealing says that to prepare they have been printing and distributing thousands of flyers to remind people.

Families and businesses (starting this year) come in their candy filled cars and children walk around in their Halloween costumes collecting candy from the trunks. There are also games and activities for the kids when they are finished trick-or-treating including pumpkin bowling, fear factor games, listening to stories, pumpkin painting, and also face painting.

This year, business owners are participatng to promote their businesses by setting up signs in their cars.  FBLA hopes businesses will be successful to promote the event for the future. Will Knowles, the president of FBLA, said, “A lot of planning went into Trick-or-Trunk, and even though we don’t make a lot of money, its still fun.”

The event runs from 6:30-9 p.m. on Monday. Admission is $5 for children, adults get in free.
