Review: Miranda Lambert’s Four the Record

Country singer Miranda Lambert‘s fourth album, Four the record, might make a great Valentine’s gift for the country music fan. It’s been two years since her last album, Revolution. The songs are a mix of fast and slow tracks, something for everyone to enjoy. Two of her songs, “Better in the Long Run,” and “Over You” include duets with her hubby, country star Blake Shelton.

“Over You” is a song about Blake’s brother passing away. It’s a good song if someone close to you has died. Her hit “Baggage Claim” is upbeat and catchy. “Dear Diamond” is about keeping a secret from someone very close to you. “Fastest Girl in Town” is a fun song to sing along to. It’ll have you dancing around. “Mama’s Broken Heart” is about getting over breakups and getting revenge. Don’t be discouraged by the title of the song, it is very upbeat with good lyrics. It’s very relatable.

“All Kinds of Kinds” ends with a minute left, so the music just keeps playing till the end which is frustrating. You end up skipping to the next song when, in fact, the rest of the song is good. On “Fine Tune,” Lambert’s voice sounds weird, almost like it’s been auto tuned. The song gets annoying quite fast. Some lyrics are repetitive, but this album is a great listen. You won’t regret buying this CD. Grade: A
