College Spotlight: West Virginia Wesleyan

WVWesAs you’re making those important college decisions, you have to think about what to look for in a college and then find one that matches your needs.  If you want a small, outdoor friendly, sporty college then West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) is one you should consider.  Located a little over five hours away in Buckhannon, West Virginia 1,400 students attend WVWC.  Affiliated with the Methodist church, the school offers a religiously based education and has been included in The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges in the Southeast for the past eight years.

Many outdoor activities are run through the school, including kayaking, tubing, biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and jet skiing.  The campus is a four-mile square, so finding your way around campus is doable.  Lastly, WVWC has many scholarship opportunities based on academics, athletics, performing arts, visual arts, and community service.  Make sure you like the snow, though, as the school is located deep in the mountains of West Virginia.
