Earth Friendly Products

1. Sun Chips!

Instead of buying the normal junk food packaged in wasteful plastic bags that clog landfills nationwide, consider the new Sun Chips. They’re delicious and eco friendly! Starting this year, the Sun Chips company is using compostable packaging made of renewable, plant-based materials. This new bag will compost in 12-16 weeks, and will reduce the waste normally produced by empty bags that litter our planet.

Many cleaning products pollute the Earth and can be extremely harmful, new products from Scotch Brite are trying to change that. Scotch Brite has come out with a new line of products made of environmentally friendly cleaning materials called Greener Clean. They are made from recycled materials, are reusable and biodegrade. That’s another widely used product line going green this year.

You may think of socks as just another little piece of everyday clothing. You wear them until they get lost in the dryer or your toes start sticking out. At that point you throw them out, not much more to that normal cycle. Old socks just add more to the massive waste people generate everyday. But now, the Hanes clothing company is trying to help out with their new brands of environmentally friendly socks! This is part of Hanes’ new environmental campaign “For Future Generations” which focuses on how our generation will affect those to come and the earth they will live on. Hanes EcoSmart Socks are made with 55 percent recycled cotton fiber. Other products, like their undershirts, are made using 67 percent renewable energy.

Sun Chips, Scotch Brite and Hanes are a few of many companies with products designed to help the environment. As a consumer, picking items like these can make a difference for the future of our environment and the generations who will be dealing with the decisions we make now, later in life.
